Fragment of Nowhere Boy

There's a minute and half of Nowhere Boy online!! It's the scene where Paul is teaching John how to play the guitar. Everyone in the UK can now enjoy this movie but I have to wait till April 1st. Poor me. So if any of you could just tape it or something and put it online for me -and the rest of Holland- to download, that would be GREAT! Haha.

Here it is, enjoy

But now the real official trailer is on the air:

It looks so amazing!! I love Alice's dress, and of course Johnny Depp.

Nanny Mcphee and the Big Bang

Oh my!!!! There's a second Nanny Mcphee movie coming out!
They really kept this quiet, cause I'm an absolute Nanny Mcphee fan and I never even heard this. I first read about it when I was catching up on the progress of HP7part1 and I read that Emma Thompson couldn't play professor Trelawney because she was busy with Nanny Mcphee 2!

Of course I looked it up and was immediately even more hooked by this superb cast! It starrs of course Emma Thompson, but also Ralph Fiennes, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rhys Evans and Maggie Smith (whom I absolutely adore)

Story: Nanny McPhee (Thompson) arrives to help a married young mother (Gyllenhaal) who is trying to run the family farm while her husband is away at war. She uses her magic to teach the woman's children and their two spoiled cousins five new lessons.

It's Complicated

You guys this is a Christmas movie I think I'm gonna love!
It's called It's Complicated and starrs Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin. Meryl Streep plays a divorcé who meets her ex-husband again after ten years. They meet, and fall in love again. Unfortunately he's married. So this makes hér 'the other woman'. She also meets an architect who begins to fall for her, but suddenly realises that he is now part of a very strange love triangle.
This of course causes many funny moments.

I've got one especially for all you fanatic readers:

And here's the trailer:

Woman arrested for filming New Moon

There was a woman who was caught when she came out of the movie theater with 3 minutes of Twilight New Moon on her camera. She's waiting for her trial right now.

Twilight director Chris Weitz is said to be shocked of this news. Weitz says there is a difference between protecting a film's copyright and persuing someone who 'obviously had no intention on piracy'.

Chris Weitz will be attending her trial, and if she is found guilty she's probably looking at three years in jail!

Can you believe that? For just 3 minutes of film?

Leap Year - Movie Trailer

OOOHHH I just adore Amy Adams!!! So I was very glad to see that she made a new movie called 'Leap Year' with *drumroll* Matthew Goode!

It's about a girl (amy) who expects a proposal from her boyfriend, but it doesn't turn out that way. She then travels after him to Ireland so that she can propose to him instead, on Leap day. Of course on the way there everything, and I mean everything, goes wrong and of course she meets a handsome fellow (matthew). Who will she choose...?

You can watch the trailer here, but if you want to avoid subtitles I suggest you click on this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Argw8RXNREk (embing wasn't allowed)

First look at Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows

I'm totally in love with the Harry Potter books and movies. My best friend and I consider ourselves from the Harry Potter-generation; we just learned to read when the first book came out and somehow this fantasy serie has evolved along with us in either books or films. Now, I'm 17 years old but I'm still waiting for those last 2 HP movies. Here's the first picture of HP7 part 1 and I also got a 56 seconds sort of trailer, which is quite rare so you can thank me in the comment box.

Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore...!

Disney Special Christmas TV Event

I am so in love with this trailer of Disney's new project. Disney made this exclusive animated special for ABC called Prep and Landing. I know it's not a movie but a special TV event, but let's think of it as a mini movie... Just watch the damn trailer:

Two weeks before Christmas we always get the Christmas TV guide. Then my mom and I cirkel everything we want to watch and make a schedule that plans out our evenings completely. We watch this, and tape that etc. I would love to see this Disney special on TV but unfortunately God was so cruel as to have me be born in Holland instead of the USA. I'm gonna try to catch it on the internet though!

The Magic of Ordinary Days (2005)

Oh my god dear readers, have I got a must-watch-tip for you! It's a period film called "The Magic Of Ordinary Days". When I started watching this movie I wasn't really sure what to expect. But after watching it, one thing was certain: this movie turned out way beyond my expectations. The story is about Livy who gets pregnant out of wedlock. As a punishment, her father sends her off to marry a farmer named Ray Singleton. Ray turns out really sweet, but Livy has trouble adjusting to a quiet country life and is unable to forget the man she really loves.

Ray Singleton is played by Skeet Ulrich, an actor I've never heard of before I saw this, but whom I really enjoyed. He played this part extremely well. I also have a weakness for Keri Russell, I think she is quite talented.

Watch this movie when you need to watch a feel good movie because, trust me, you'll be smiling constantly. As I caught myself doing every 2 minutes. A wonderful movie full of love and hope. Just..., just watch it! You'll know what I mean!

The Twilight Saga: New Moon - Review

For teenagers whose movie knowledge only reaches up to Mean Girls it's OK, but don't watch it when you know a good movie from a bad one.

I got dragged to this movie by my friend who is sort of a fan. I downloaded the first movie and thought it was horrible. New Moon was a bit better, but still not in let's say Harry Potter's league. You read on the internet and papers that the chemistry between Robert and Kristen is so good. It's not. I haven't seen a single emotion on Kristen Stewarts' face the whole movie. Pattinson mumbles in a way that is hard to understand. Only the smaller parts were OK, Ashley Green did a good job and so did the rest of the Cullens. Bella's friends were also fine. Taylor Lautner had a tendency to overact, but was also believable.

From the trailer I gathered that the first movie was sort of like the introduction and this movie would be faster and more action and more emotion. Boy was I wrong. It's just as slow as the first one and the action was, well, nothing. The Vulturi fight looked amazing in the trailer, but don't be fooled! Everything you saw of the fight in the trailer (6 seconds) was what's in the movie.

Me and my friend just couldn't get over the fact that Bella is such a bad example for teenage girls! She gets dumped incredibly rudely by a (in my opinion not so attractive) vampire who leaves her and all she can do for months is cry and cry and cry and shout in her sleep. We were like: Hello! the guy is a jerk, get over it! But unfortunately she didn't. She also gets extremely suicidal over her 'loss' and does extremely dangerous things because then she 'sees Edward again'. That was really pathetic. I haven't read any of the books but that was the worst storyline ever. You already expect us to believe in vampires, but I will not cross the line of fantasy in believing that she can see him when she breaks her promise.

Good stuff, was the wolves. I really liked the gang of wolfs, the interaction between them, the friendly ways. The transforming was also done great. I would have liked to see more of them instead of Bella's mourning.

I just have to say one more thing about this vision of Alice of the future. Why o why did they show Edward and Bella dressed in, I don't know, middle-ages clothing and jumping around in the woods? The WHOLE theater was laughing at them. Not good.

When you like the books, sure go and see it. When you like vampires, go see it. When you like Taylor Lautner, go see it (that's why I went). But don't expect quality in this movie. You'll only be disappointed.

People Magazine Sexiest Man Alive

is.... Johnny Depp!!

My alltime favorite Johnny Depp has beaten a lot of 20 something boys like Robert Pattinson and Chace Crawford and is number one on the People Magazine Sexiest Man Alive list. He proved that his Jack Sparrow charm is still kicking, because this is his second time! There are only two other actors who have won twice, Brad Pitt and George Clooney, so this is a very elite group. I also wouldn't mind getting out the message that we would like to see this group in a movie together. His upcoming movie is Alice in Wonderland: I'm sure the Mad Hatter has never been sexier...

He won't also be the Sexiest Man alive this year. According to every magazine Johnny is still on for a fourth installment of POTC and gets 30 million for doing this fourth movie. That also makes him the highest paid actor of all time.

So the only thing left for him is to finally win an Academy Award!

The choice for him as Sexiest Man Alive is explained by the editor: “The thing about Johnny is he has proven his sexiness over the years,” She said he was the only actor who “can pull off the sexiness” behind such bizarre characters as Willie Wonka and the Mad Hatter.

Slow week, so a music video for you guys

I'm sorry to report that there's been no particularly fascinating movie news that I have been able to share with you! So why am I writing? Just because I discovered this awesome music video from the remake of Fame (one of my friends went to see it and said it was just great - so don't mind the critics) and I wanted to share it with you!

Here goes:

The Time Traveler's Wife

A friend of mine showed me the trailer of The Time Traveler's Wife a while ago and it seemed like a great movie. Back then it was still far away, but not anymore: it will be in cinemas by november 12th.

The Story: Henry DeTamble (Eric Bana) seems an ordinary man with an ordinary job. He works in a library in Chicago, but he suffers from a weird illness: against his will he travels through time. Of course that is difficult for his job and social life: in the present as well as in the past.
During one of his travels Henry meets the beautiful Clare (Rachel McAdams). She recognizes him as her true love and they work hard to maintain their relationship. It's difficult however to do that with Henry travelling to the pas occassionally before he gets back to her after an unknown period of time.

Yes it does remind you of Benjamin Button. Some say it's a better version, others say worse. I haven't seen it so I have no idea, but one thing is certain: this can be an entertaining  movie if you let it.
Critics say that it is hard to get sometimes. Some things just don't make sense and they get stuck in your head for at least three days after you've seen it. Thank god for all those (weird) guys who  make websites entirely devoted to this stuff.

And here's the trailer:

POTC: On Stranger Tides

As many Pirates of the Caribbean fans will know, the title of the fourth installment of  has been released on September 11, 2009. It's called On Stranger Tides and was revealed by Johnny Depp in character as Jack Sparrow at disney's D23 Expo. Disney's head of Production Oren Aviv said that this would hopefully be the first of another trilogy. He also said that Disney had chosen to scale this movie down from the former series: "It's important to get the story right and it's important to me to scale it down, because we can't get bigger. The movies have subsequently gotten bigger and bigger and very complicated and they were satisfying on so many levels obviously, but I want to kind of reboot the whole thing and bring it down to its core, its essence, just characters." He agreed that there is a lot of Captain Jack Sparrow's background that we haven't seen yet without confirming or denying that we might see some of that in the fourth movie.

We also know for sure that Johnny Depp will star in this: he agreed to star in this "before there was a script or anything."At one point it was rumoured that Russell Brand and Zac Efron would also star, but that has never been confirmed.

The story hasn't been made public yet. Tim Powers have stated that the movie is inspired on his book, On Stranger Tides. This book is about a pirate named Jack, who is searching for the Fountain Of Youth. We also get a glimpse of this at the end of the third film, POTC: At World's End when Jack Sparrow is looking at a symbol of the Aqua De Vida on a map.

Nowhere Boy

Yes! I've been waiting and waiting for this but finally there's a trailer of Nowhere Boy! This is a movie about the rise of the Beatles, focusing on John Lennon. Especially about Lennon's teenage years and his first steps to stardom and will focus on the influence his Aunt Mimi and his mother Julia had on his early life, and his friendship with future fellow Beatle Paul McCartney. The British actor Aaron Johnson will play Lennon and that Thomas Sangster will play Paul McCartney. I absolutely adore Thomas Sangster, he's the reason I heard about this movie in the first place. Kristen Scott Thomas will be playing Lennon's (step)mother.

Its premiere was 29 october in the UK on the London Filmfestival, and it got great reviews! Unfortunately for us poor Dutch people it won't be in Dutch cinemas until april 1st. But it's better than the USA, cause it'll never be in cinemas over there, so sorry folks!

Watch the trailer here:
P.S. I love the glasses John Lennon is wearing!

The Private Lives Of Pippa Lee

Plot: From all outward appearances, Pippa Lee (Robin Wright Penn) leads a charmed existence. She is the devoted wife of an accomplished publisher (Alan Arkin) thirty years her senior, the proud mother of two grown children, and a trusted friend and confidant to all who cross her path. But as Pippa dutifully follows her husband to a new life in a staid Connecticut retirement community, her idyllic world and the persona she has built over the course of her marriage will be put to the ultimate test.

In truth, looks are deceiving, and this picture-perfect woman has seen more than her fair share of turmoil in her youth. Embarking on a bittersweet journey of self-discovery, accompanied by a new, strange and soulful acquaintance (Keanu Reeves), Pippa must now confront both her volatile past and the hidden resentment of her seemingly perfect life in order to find her true sense of self.

It stars Golden Globe nominee Robin Wright Penn and Academy Award winner Alan Arkin who are supported by an all-star cast including Blake Lively as the young Pippa Lee, Maria Bello as her mother, Suky Sarkissian, Keanu Reeves as Pippa's inscrutable neighbor, Chris Nadeau, Monica Bellucci as the socialite Gigi Lee, triple Academy Award® nominee Julianne Moore as the freewheeling Kat, and Academy Award® nominee and Golden Globe winner Winona Ryder as Pippa's trusted friend, Sandra Dulles.

Center Stage: Turn it up

I had a dance-movie-marathon with one of my friends last night. Since there are only few dance movies left that we haven't seen, we decided to rent 'Honey' with Jessica Alba. Unfortunately, this particular dvd was nowhere to be found. We came along another -rather unknown- one called 'Center Stage: Turn it up' and decided to go with that one.
Story: All self-taught dancer Kate Parker has ever wanted to do was perform with the American Academy of Ballet (ABA). She didn't get in however after auditioning. So she looks for a job and with the help of male dancer named Tommy who díd get in at the ABA gets one in a hip-hop club after showing her own hip-hop skills. Together with his and her sisters help she may just find the passion she needs to make her dreams come true.

It wasn't a bad  movie, it had some laughter and Rachel Brooke Smith, who plays Kate, did a pretty good job, seeing that this was her very first acting job. My friend and I had a disagreement over her love interest in the movie, she was very pro-Tommy, but he had an earring and his character was a too-good-a-guy, whilst he didn't look as a good guy and just didn't came over like one. So I thought she should end up with one of the ABA's teachers (a young one, don't worry) who was very nice and also quite good looking. We made a comparison between these guys and the guys from Pride and Prejudice. I said Tommy was Wickham, the attractive seemingly good guy but is just not right for her on the inside and the teacher being Darcy, cause she couldn't stand him at first.

I'm straying off. Let's talk about the music. The music was great, it really was a great soundtrack. The dancing: pretty much every actor are clearly great dancers rather than expierenced actors. So the dancing was very good. There was plenty of chemistry between the lead couple's relationship, they were very natural with each other.

Watch it with friends.

This was the guy I was rooting for...

...whilst my friend was rooting for this guy:
(and it became this one)

Watch the trailer here:

New Moon Featurette The Wolf Pack

There's a new moon featurette online that focuses on creating the wolf pack. Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart and other cast members talk about the wolves in new moon. This movie is way more wolf than vampire, which is great, cause I like Taylor better than Robert.

Frank's Spoiled Movie Endings

This is the most sacred website of all!
On Frank's Spoiled Movie Endings you can use the list of movies to select a film that you like to know how it ends. Just for when you want to know who lives, dies and gets shot.

I use it all the time. The minute I think a movie I'm watching is about to get sad, I check with Frank. Even if you're one of those people who is 'mature' and able to deal with sad endings, this is still a site to check out. Cause to me Frank seems like a really nice guy -except for the fact that he picked Josh Brolin in Milk as his Oscar Pick this year, when we all knew it would be Heath Ledger. Look at his other Oscar Picks.

He even has a list with movies to avoid.

You can even spoil a couple yourself ;)

Keira Knightley is a Fair Lady

Keira Knightley has won herself the rol of Eliza Doolittle in the remake of My Fair Lady. She will be re-teaming with Joe Wright, with whom she has made Atonement and Pride and Prejudice. But My Fair Lady is a musical, and I have yet to hear Keira's vocals. She has been reportedly taking singing lessons and so winning the rol from Scarlett Johansson.

I'm not a great fan of remakes. Especially not if it's a remake of a movie with Audrey Hepburn. Keira is a fine actress, but she isn't Audrey. So I have yet to decide if I want to watch this particular remake. If someone does and it turns out great, please comment.

Mamma Mia 2

Mammia Mia was a huge Hollywood succes and now there's talking of making a part 2. Amanda Seyfried has already stated that she would up to play Sophie again in Mamma Mia 2.

Cinema Blend says:
"There seems to be some confusion among the movie’s cast as to exactly what songs they’ll be singing in the next film. Last month Colin Firth said here that they’d be picking a new band to provide the sequel’s lyrics but Seyfried insists, “I know it’s still going to be Abba music, because what else would it be. Come on, I wouldn’t do Mamma Mia 2 without Benny and Bjorn.”

I loved Mamma Mia and it made tons of money so why not do a sequel?

Even Meryl Streep would not mind to reappear as a "Grand Mamma Mia", but only if they can get all three guys back to resume their parts.

Beware, it is not set in stone yet, everything is speculation. But with nothing final yet, one thing everyone agrees on is that there are plenty of ABBA songs left to fuel a second installment... and enough directions for the plot.

Colin Firth
"Well, Benny has put the kibosh on the ABBA thing. I don’t know if you read that. Benny Anderson was public - quoting what I read in a newspaper - but he said it’s not going to happen with ABBA. We’re not using the back catalogue. He, I think, has other ambitions, probably. The main thing is they’ve used the songs you would need for that musical and using the rest of the catalogue…I don’t know, you’d have to ask him. From what I’m understanding, the people who do want to make it, are considering the possibility of using another bands music. Why not. But that’s speculation, I’ve got no insight on what will really happen."
